First off, thank you for taking the time to pop over to this page and learn a little more about me.
My name is Sean Olsen, and I'm the owner of Studio Solsen. I was born and raised in Chatham-Kent, Ontario.

I launched Studio Solsen at the beginning of 2025. At first, I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to land within the industry, so I explored a variety of styles. Over time, I discovered my true passions: product photography and videography, event photography, brand and lifestyle portraits, writing, and content design for websites and social media platforms.

Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am. I've been drawn to artistic hobbies my entire life — music especially. My father played bass in a band when I was young, and I picked up the guitar in my early teens. When I started college at Fanshawe in London, Ontario, photography became part of my studies. The Media Design and Production program gave me a foundation in photography, videography, and design — passions that stuck with me even after I left the program early to pursue work and play in bands.

In 2016, after nearly a decade away, I moved back home to Chatham-Kent. Life had thrown me some curveballs, and I needed to step away from the "party" lifestyle. Coming home was a turning point — a reset that allowed me to rebuild and refocus.

Then everything changed again.

The birth of my daughter, Evelyn, when I was thirty, transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined. She was born with a critical heart defect and was airlifted to Toronto immediately after birth. That moment catapulted me into fatherhood and forced me to grow up fast — into a man who needed to be strong for his little girl. Seven years, three open-heart surgeries, countless doctor appointments, and endless kilometers later — Evelyn is alive, thriving, and remains my biggest inspiration.

Music, writing, and — though I didn’t fully realize it at the time — photography helped carry me through those early years.

(And fun fact: the photo above of me looking at Pink Floyd’s The Wall was actually taken by Evelyn herself.)

2024 was a year of massive personal change.

In January, I made the decision to completely abstain from alcohol. I'd been diagnosed with ADHD, had struggled with anxiety attacks for years, and alcohol had been my way of self-medicating. It was time for a new path.

Then, in March, my father — my biggest supporter — passed away unexpectedly. His loss fundamentally changed the way I saw life, success, and what truly matters.

Later that year, in August, I had the honor of marrying my best friend, Chelsey.

Without her in my corner every day, I wouldn't be where I am today.

With sobriety came a lot of newfound time and clarity, and I returned to a first love: photography.

I started small — just me, my iPhone, and countless hours on YouTube learning techniques, editing styles, and studying the craft. I was hooked.

By the end of 2024, I had upgraded to a professional Sony camera and officially began the process of launching Studio Solsen.

I quickly found a deep passion for product photography — creating unique scenes, working on set design, and crafting one-of-a-kind images.

It didn't take long for my work to catch the attention of friends, family, and local businesses.

Today, I'm lucky to work with incredible local small businesses on content that includes product photography, event photography, brand and lifestyle portrait sessions, videography, and content design for websites and social media platforms.

What I love most is building relationships — getting to know business owners, learning their stories, and having the honor of representing their brands in a visually creative way. It's a responsibility I don't take lightly, and it’s something I look forward to doing long into the future.

If you've made it this far, thank you for reading my story.

You can find me on all the socials — and hopefully someday, we’ll create something amazing together.

I’ll leave you with a quote that’s stuck with me:
